According to Palæoboreanic mythology, ancient Borea was inhabited by numerous, diverse humanoid races. These were mainly categorized into Wights, Wyrms, and Therions, although there are many others.
Wights are essentially "humanesque" creatures, such as Boreans, Elves, Dwarves, Ogres, Orcs, and Undead.
Werish Races Also called "The Mannish Races", this is a paraphyletic grouping of what the Fairikin consider to be the "baser" wights: Ogres, dwarrow, and Boreans, the latter of which seems to share a more recent common ancestor with the Fairikin than with any of their fellow Werish races.
Fairish Races Elves, Hobs, Nymphs. The Fairish races likely descend from the not-so-distant ancestor of the Borean people. Aloof, elusive, and highly magical, these creatures aren't even regarded as mortal by the Werish races, and indeed cannot die of old age.
The Damned Races In Palæoboreanic mythology, "The Damned Races" refers those which are considered as having an unnatural semblance of life. This includes the Undead (vampires, wraiths, revenants, and the like) as well as the Orcs (who according to legend are all descended from undead beings). For more information, see The Damned Races.
Wyrms are the intelligent reptilian races of ancient Borea.
The Saurians This group is made up of reptilian humanoids apparently subservient to a ruling race of humanoid amphibians called Salamanders. The Saurians are divisible into two basic groups: The Saurian Arrect are the reptilian humanoids, and include Monitors, Hobyahs, Slithards, Suchoids/Sebekites, and many others; The Saurian Repent denotes the various sprawling reptilians who act as "beasts of burden" to the Saurian Arrect, and include riding lizards, chamaeleochs, sirrushes, Sarcosuchids, Kaprosuchids, Saurosuchids, and others.
The Dragons Often worshipped as deities (or at least very sacred beasts) by the Saurians, this group includes Drakes, Wyverns, Amphipteres, and other great serpents.
Therians are intelligent, (mostly) humanoid beings that resemble chimeral combinations of other creatures.
Centauromorphs This groups includes traditional centaurs as well as pterocentaurs, bucentaurs, leontocentaurs, cervicentaurs, scorpiocentaurs, and many others.
Leontiformes This group includes sphinxes, griffins, and leontocentaurs.
Theriocephalics "Beast-headed" humanoids, including semitaurs (i.e., "minotaurs"), Anubites, and others.
Creatures that don't fit into any other category.
Lamiformes This group includes humanoids with serpentine bodies below the waist, such as lamia, merrow (merfolk), and nagas.
Insectoids Humanoid insect-creatures. This group includes the Myrmecons (ant people), the Vespidons (wasp people), and others.
